SAP Business One Integrations
Most useful business questions span more than one system. We read SAP Business One alongside the databases and REST APIs that hold the rest of your operation, and put the answer on one screen. Every connection is strictly read-only — we issue queries and nothing else.
Three kinds of source, one view
SAP Business One
On Microsoft SQL Server or SAP HANA. We connect to the company database with a read-only user and read the tables you nominate. Nothing is installed on the B1 server and no add-on is registered.
The databases beside it
MySQL and PostgreSQL — the operational databases that hold the part of your business the ERP never captured. Read on the same connection cycle as B1, so the same chart can put both side by side.
REST APIs
Any HTTP endpoint we can issue a GET against, with no authentication, a Bearer token, an API-key header, or Basic auth. Endpoints are saved and polled live. We only ever read.
Connecting your systems to SAP Business One
Can you integrate SAP Business One with a specific system we use?
The test is simple: if the system exposes a REST API we can issue a GET request against, or a MySQL or PostgreSQL database we can be given read-only access to, then yes — its data can appear on the same dashboard as your SAP Business One data. Helpdesk tools such as Zendesk or Zoho Desk, CRMs such as Highrise, and courier services such as UPS all publish REST APIs of this kind. We name them as examples of the interface, not as systems we have already connected — tell us which one you use and we will confirm against its API documentation before quoting anything.
Is this a two-way sync?
No, and deliberately not. Every connection we make is read-only in one direction: we issue queries and GET requests, and there is no code path by which our tooling could write to SAP Business One or to any connected system. If you need records pushed back into B1, that is a different kind of project and not what we do.
Does anything get installed on our SAP Business One server?
No. There is no add-on, no schema change, and no agent on the B1 server. We ask for a read-only database user scoped to the tables you want reported on. If you stopped working with us tomorrow, your ERP would be exactly as it is today.
Our B1 server is only reachable on the office LAN. Does that rule this out?
It is the normal case and we build for it. The reporting layer runs inside your network, so credentials and data never leave your premises. We do not ask you to expose the ERP to the internet or to copy your database to infrastructure we control.
What if the system we want to read has no API?
Then we say so rather than working around it. Some systems expose only a user interface, and screen-scraping someone else’s product is neither reliable nor something we will sell you. Where there is a supported export or a database we can be granted read access to, that is usually the honest path instead.
Whose responsibility is SAP licensing for this?
Yours, and we raise it before the work rather than after. SAP licensing can extend beyond the people who log into SAP directly to those who consume SAP data through another system — what SAP calls indirect or digital access — and a reporting layer built on your data can fall within that. We are not an SAP partner and cannot advise on your position, so confirm with SAP or your SAP partner what your agreement permits before we connect anything. We will scope the work around whatever answer you get.
Are you an SAP partner?
No. AREA KPI Technology is an independent software company. We are not an SAP partner, reseller or certified implementation provider, and we do not sell, licence or support SAP software.
